Eagle Nest Elementary opened for the 2007-08 school year. The school was originally named Appian Way Elementary, but nature had different plans. Construction had to be delayed when a Bald Eagle's nest was found on the property. The school name was then changed to Eagle Nest Elementary. The doors opened in August of 2007 to greet 750 students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.
