Mrs. Deanna Bentley

My name is Michelle Bentley, and I will be teaching 7th grade Social Studies.  This is my first year at Dubose Middle.

I was born in Charleston, and I am a graduate of Hanahan High School.  I studied Political Science and Sociology at the College of Charleston where I received my Bachelor’s Degree.  I went on to be a criminal defense paralegal for many years before I discovered I wanted to be a teacher.  I went back to the College of Charleston where I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  After passing my Social Studies praxis, I am now certified to teach grades 7-12 in addition to grades 1-6.

Before coming to DuBose, I taught 2nd grade at Knightsville Elementary.  I helped open William Reeves Elementary where I taught 2nd grade and 5th grade. I have taught all subject areas in elementary education.

Outside of school, I enjoy being with my family, my friends, and most importantly my two dogs, Sadie and Sullivan.  I enjoy being outside and being in and on the water.  My favorite place to go is the beach.  I also love to fish and kayak.  I love all sports, but football and basketball are my favorites.  I also love the Clemson Tigers!

Being new to Dubose Middle will be challenging, but I am looking forward to the adventure!

When checking PowerSchool, please remember:

  •  Checking PowerSchool regularly is the best way to stay informed about how you are doing in class and on top of your grades.

    • You can click on the grade for social studies, and PowerSchool will display the assignments included in that grade.
    • View details to see a description or a hyperlink to the document.
    • If an assignment is marked “--” by the grade, the teacher has not yet entered the grade.
    • Classwork will not be accepted late under any circumstances. If I accidentally give a student a 0 for classwork and they were absent from class, please email me or speak to me in class and I will fix the grade.
  • Please refer to UNIFIED CLASSROOM for grades and assignments. Use Class Dojo for the class story and positive behavior updates.
