    ARHS' Prevention & Intervention department helps students become successful by utilizing the following interventions:

    • Building relationships with students and their parents and encouraging students to do their best in all classes
    • Holding students accountable for their academic responsibilities
    • Assisting with virtual school registration dates/deadlines and selection of courses
    • Monitoring APEX/VirtualSC coursework and grades
    • Monitoring grades on a daily/weekly basis
    • Observing students in their classes most at risk
    • Implementing mandatory ILT/SLT schedules
    • Using our office as a safe space for individuals/students to talk and check in with us
    • Providing a small group instruction/completion of assignments area in our office
    • Conducting IGP’s, 504’s, parent/ teacher conferences and IEP meetings
    • Coordinate with Palmetto and GAP in regards to student’s progress, grades, courses and IGP’s
    • Providing tutoring through peer led groups (i.e. National Honor Society) and through evening school
    • Providing access to computers during ILT-supervised by a counselor
    • Providing access to computers in our office during school hours with an appropriate pass from their teachers
    • Assisting with organization of binders, folders, and assignments
    • Conducting home visits for students that are absent from school for an extended period of time to encourage/ re-enroll into school or other educational programs
    • Meeting/visits with students/education coordinator at GAP and Palmetto
    • Organizing events to keep students engaged in school and focused on academics (such as Career Day, Getting Back on Track Night, Trident Tech field trip) and link all P&I students up with a mentor within the school; to support students social and academic successes
    • Hosting a 2 year College Application Day to encourage post-secondary plans for Juniors and Seniors
