Ms. Masopust, MEd, NCC, LPC

Ms. Masopust primarily serves students in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades this year. She has been a school counselor at Beech Hill since 2010. She earned an M.ED. in Counseling Education from The Citadel Graduate College and a B.S. in Allied Health Science from The Medical University of South Carolina. Ms. Masopust became a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in 2010, and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2012. She loves using her skills as a school counselor to help children overcome obstacles that impede their learning, work with parents who call on her to assist with their children’s challenges, and collaborate with educators and counselors. She is fascinated with modern brain research and applies this knowledge to help understand challenging behaviors. In her free time, Ms. Masopust loves yoga, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Helton, MEd

Mr. Helton has been a school counselor at Beech Hill since 2016. He received his B.A. in Biology from the College of Charleston in 2011 and earned his M.Ed. of School Counseling from Liberty University in 2015. This is his 6th year at Beech Hill Elementary and he is excited to see what this year will hold. He has earned specialist certifications in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Trauma and Crisis, Bullying Prevention and School Counseling Leadership through the American School Counselor Association. Mr. Helton loves his role as a school counselor because it gives him the opportunity to help students build skills and relationships that will help them long after they leave the Beech. Mr. Helton and his wife of five years, Kelsie, live in Mount Pleasant where they are raising their son who was born in the spring to love the College of Charleston Cougars, South Carolina Gamecocks and Tennessee Titans.
