Hello!  My name is Jose Rafael Acevedo, and I am teaching Spanish III, IV, and V honors.  I am a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Puerto Rico.  I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, where I obtained my Bachelor's degree.  I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology at NOVA Southeastern University in Florida.  I worked in a private school in Puerto Rico for 24 years.  In 2005, I moved to Charleston with my family.  I taught Music and Spanish in two private schools, and worked for Berkeley County for 5 years.  I have taught for the last 5 years at Summerville High.  As a teacher, I am committed to my students and their learning.  I think it is my responsibility, first of all, to motivate my students to study, to engage them in what they are learning, and to being successful in their lives. I believe knowledge is something nobody can take away from us. Everything learned with respect and love is going to stay with us forever.
