One Last Day to Return Textbooks
One FINAL book drop for underclassmen on Tues 6/2 from 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm. We will not be collecting fees then—only textbook drop off.
End of Year Procedures
School will be open: Tues 5/26: 7am-12 pm and Thurs 5/28: 12pm-6pm
Students will be able to:
- Turn in textbooks, library books, uniforms, etc.
- Pay fines/fees
- Turn in completed work papers (last day to turn in work is 5/28)
- Pick up purchased yearbooks (bring ID)
Continued Learning Through May: (Assignments are posted in the Distance Learning folder.)Enrichment activities for continued learning through May will be posted each week by Monday morning. A Teams meeting for this class will be held every Monday at 1:00 for you to discuss any questions you may have about the work. Seniors only have until Friday, May 15th to turn in assignments, so use these meetings to get help if you need it!The enrichment assignments will count as additional grades, so if you want to improve your average, keep working through May. You will only be able to submit the enrichment work if you have already turned in all work for all 8 assignments in Packet 1 and Packet 2.Students will be able to drop off completed work this Fri, 4/24 from 7:30 -11:00 AM and 1:00 - 6:00 PM in the senior lot.

The tests on Quizstar.4Teachers.org are set to allow you take take them twice if you need a second opportunity for a higher grade!If you choose the Essay option for Assessments, I will be looking for 50 points of information with a detailed explanation of the prompts, not simply definitions of terms. Explain formation, functions and interactions. The essay for each chapter should be 3 to 4 pages.The Distance Learning Assignment Packet 2 will be available online Wednesday, 4/1. All assignments are presented on only one page (front and back). Since there are many weblinks included, it is best to view the instructions electronically, via this class webpage or Teams. Please only pick up a copy of the packet from the school on Thursday, 4/2 if you cannot access it electronically as we work to comply with social distancing recommendations.

Dr. Ellen Callahan
I received my undergraduate Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from Clemson University and went on to work in the field of veterinary medicine for more than 12 years. I continued my education, receiving an Associates Degree in Medical Assisting and a Masters Degree in Teaching, Biology. I am a Certified Medical Assistant and have worked in both medical offices and hospitals. Before coming to SHS, I served as Director of Medical Sciences at Miller-Motte Technical College, supervising the Medical Assisting, Surgical Technology, and Massage Therapy programs. I went on to earn my Doctorate Degree in Education with a specialization in Teacher Leadership. I've been teaching for 22 years, and this is my 15th year at SHS. I'm also proud to be a National Board Certified Teacher.
