I am the Moderate ID teacher at Summerville High School serving students with disabilities ages 15 to 21. I graduated from Winthrop College with a degree in Special Education and also graduated from the College of Charleston with a Masters in Special Ed as well. I have taught at SHS for over 20 years and look forward to many more.

I am the Department Head for our special education department which allows me to mentor new teachers and also work with vetran teachers to give support and guidance as we all grow in this professional environment.

My purpose for teaching students with Moderate Disabilities is to bridge barriers between my students and society while providing a safe and supportive environment in which they can grow and mature. School is everything to my students. It is an integral part of who they are. It is my job to give them positive experiences in and out of the classroom and to build in them a feeling of self worth that they can carry into the future once they graduate from Summerville High School.
