Degrees and Certifications:
Hi, my name is Stephania Penley. I received my undergrad degree from Converse College and my Masters from the University of Charleston. I have been a teacher for a total of 22 years. I have a diverse background of educational experience. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kazahstan teaching English to 4th through 11 grade students and volunteering at a nearby Deaf school. I have taught the Deaf for 14 years here in our district, as well as students with learning disabilities.
I currently work with Deaf students at Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary. I teach primary ELA and Math classes as well as supplemental classes to Hard of Hearing resource students. My main goal is to help my students stay on a diploma track. I want them to dream and make their dreams realities. I provide whatever support they need in order to be successful in the regular educational classroom. I firmly believe that if there is no struggle, there is no gain!
I work with a wonderful team of interpreters. All of our interpreters are EIPA certified. Our common goal is to ensure that students are succeeding in the classroom as well as in the learing enviroment with peers and educators.
