Welcome to my webpage! I am one of the original teachers who opened our fabulous school thirteen years ago and I am so happy to still be here with our Eagle Nesters!
I have been a teacher for two decades and I have taught all over the world because I am a military wife. I have a masters in early childhood education and I am currently pursuing an additional certification in literacy. I have taught first and second grades. I have been a math interventionist and a reading coach at Eagle Nest. I taught special education preschool for four years in Hawaii. That teaching experience gave me valuable insight into learning difficulties at a very young age and the struggles the parents endure. I grew so much as a teacher during those wonderful years and I use those experiences now with students who are having difficulty with reading. This is my seventh year as the System 44 Reading Intervention teacher. I have very high expectations for my System 44 students and am proud to say that my students have excelled in years past and grown in reading to be equal with their peers. My goal every year is to encourage my students to read every day, including weekends with my Weekend Reading Project folders, and for them to begin to love reading instead of feeling like reading is a chore. My heart sings every May because of the success my students attain and I am so grateful to be a part of our wonderful school. I look forward with working with my third graders this year!
