Mrs. Scherrep was born in Chicago, IL but raised in a  small town called Six Mile in Upstate SC. She  decided to become a teacher after her 12th grade English teacher helped her discover that she has dyslexia. In high school, she completed 4 years of AFJROTC where she was an unarmed drill commander, colorguard member, and  cadre. She also met her husband her sophomore year of high school.

After graduating high school, she went Coastal Carolina University and earned a Bachelor's of Arts in English. Next, she went to Converse College where she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching. Finally, in 2011 she started teaching at Fort Dorchester High School. Go Patriots!

Currently, she is enrolled at Southern Wesleyn University and pursuing an Ed.D in Curriculum and Assessment.

Her family consists of her high school sweetheart husband who is a Charleston County Paramedic, her son (Logan-born June 2014) daughter (Shay- born December 2017), her dog (Perry), two cats (Hobey and Tumtum), and two ferrets (Yolo and Ty).

Her favorite things are coffee, movies, books, and more coffee. She is a Clemson football fan (GO TIGERS!). She is a huge fan of Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Cassandra Clare Books, The Hunger Games, Twilight Saga, The Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory, Percy Jackson, Supernatural, Gilmore Girls, Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, and the list goes on. Things that make her happy are Holidays, music, movies, coffee, her family, and new pens, and lazy days. Her family and she attends Freedom Church on Sundays. Her favorite thing to do, however, is spend time with her husband and kids.
