The Early College Program Purpose
The Dorchester School District Two Early College Program is a unique educational experience that offers students the opportunity to acquire college credits while in high school. The Early College Program (ECP) is a dual credit initiative between Dorchester School District Two and Trident Technical College (TTC). Through the Early College Program, students will be able to complete their high school diploma while concurrently completing credits toward a college credential (associates degree). The Early College Program is founded on community collaboration between DD2 and TTC & other community sponsors in order to serve high school students. Students who are selected to enroll in ECP need to understand that they are part of a rigorous, adult, collegiate environment. The ECP is only available to Freshmen students.
The Early College Program Goals
- Challenge students daily & help them commit to academic excellence
- Help students have the opportunity to earn high school & college credit concurrently with the overall goal of earning an associate's degree upon high school graduation
- Serve first-generation college students & other identified at-risk student populations
- Provide students with career counseling to assist in the transition toward career goals
