Mrs. Angela Cantrell

My name is Angela Cantrell. I attended high school in Topeka, Kansas.  I graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Secondary Education.  I have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska-Anchorage.  I am National Board Certified in Adolescent/Young Adult Science. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction for Middle School.

Here is a little bit about me!

*I am married to Michael.

*I have three grown children:  Marissa, Douglas, and Kathryn. I also have two bonus children named Adam and Maddy.

*I am a pet lover and currently have 9 pets.

*I was a military brat who moved around alot when I was little.  I was in the Air National Guard for 8 years.  I worked with the KC-135 refueler.

*I am beginning my 20th year of teaching.  I taught Science at Summerville High School for 6.5 years, Science and Math at Mears Middle School in Anchorage, Alaska for 5 years, and Science and Math at Ashley Ridge High School for 6.5 years. This is my second year at Rollings.

*I love baseball and most sports.  The Chicago Cubs are my favorite team.

*My favorite hobby is attending concerts.  Live music ROCKS!

*I am an athlete who has run several marathons, half marathons and have even competed in a triathlon!  I got injured last year and have switched from running to biking.  That is a lot of fun.

*Teaching is my passion. I like to have fun while learning and I am looking forward to teaching science and math at Rollings Middle School of the Arts.
